Michael began his carpentry career as a boat builder in Southern California in 1969. He moved to Wisconsin in 1975 and began working in residential remodeling. Subsequently he spent eight years in finish carpentry before moving to Texas where he began working as a custom stair builder. In 1986 Michael returned to Wisconsin and founded Damrow Stairs. Micheal's unique background has enabled him to solve numerous design challenges. His stairs have been featured in Architectural Digest among other publications.
